Minimum Academic Entry Requirements for Year 12 (Sixth Form)

All Year 11 students and external candidates wanting a place in Year 12 must achieve the general entry requirements for the appropriate pathway, as published in our Sixth Form prospectus and below, in addition to the specific minimum entry criteria for each of the courses they wish to study in
the Sixth Form.

Academic Pathway - 3 (or 4) A Level subjects
The minimum academic entry requirements for this pathway are:
5 subjects at Grade 5 or above at GCSE level

 

Academic Vocational Pathway - 3 x BTEC/Cambridge Technical Qualifications
The minimum academic entry requirements for this pathway are:
5 subjects at Grade 4 or above at GCSE level

 

Mixed Pathway - 3 x A Level subjects/BTEC or Cambridge Technical Qualifications
The minimum academic entry requirements for this pathway are:
5 subjects at Grade 4 or above at GCSE level


Please refer to the Sixth Form Prospectus for details of the courses offered and the specific entry criteria for each course.


Students who have met both the general and subject specific entry requirements for their chosen courses are asked to confirm their place at Hayes Sixth Form by 3.00pm on Thursday 22nd August.

Year 11 students at Hayes School
You will receive a link to your school e-mail address on Thursday 22nd August by 10am. 
You are asked to click on the link to confirm your place in Year 12 from September 2024.

Applicants from other schools
You will receive an e-mail with a link to your online application in Admissions+ asking you to complete some additional enrolment information, including your actual GCSE grades and identification documents, to confirm your place for September.

Please confirm your place by 3.00pm on Thursday 22nd August

In the event that a student has met the general entry requirements but has not achieved the specific minimum requirements for all or some of their chosen courses, and is still wishing to take up a place with us, additional advice and a 1:1 discussion will be available in the Main Hall on Friday 23rd August 2024 according to the schedule below:

Please note: These timings reflect our Sixth Form oversubscription criteria which can be found in our Admissions Policy

In accordance with our Admissions Policy, it is a requirement for students to meet the minimum general entry requirements to enrol into Hayes Sixth Form.
